This rare black and white photo print dates to the 1950's and captures the image of Wrestler Eric Pederson. The image is believed to have been taken in Portland Oregon at the Portland Armory (backstage photo). The Portland (Oregon) Armory hosted wrestling events from 1954 to 1967.

Born August 17th, 1928, Eric Pedersen was a star wrestler in the Portland Oregon region (and others) throughout the 1950's. Eric held both the NWA Pacific Northwest Heavyweight title and a Tag Team Title. Prior to his wrestling career, Eric was a bodybuilder who would go on to win the title of Mr. California in 1947.

Later that year, Eric placed 2nd place in the Mr. America competition of which he lost to actor Steve Reeves. Steve Reeves won both the Mr. America & Mr. World bodybuilding competitions in the 1940's. Steve Reeves would later go on to work in numerous Hollywood films, including the film that made him a star, Hercules!

Eric moved from body building to professional wrestling in the late 1940's and became a fan favorite wrestler into the 1950's. Eric won and held numerous grappling titles.
