VINTAGE TIFFANY BELT BUCKLE - CORD OWNERS CLUB OF AMERICA
1960's TO 1970's FAKE
$45.00
This item has some interesting history. This Belt Buckle looks to be made by Tiffany Studios; however, it is a fake. Tiffany never made belt buckles. During the 1960' and 1970's, fake antique looking Tiffany belt buckles started showing up in the United States (they came from over-seas). They were made to look turn-of-the-century. Antique dealers and unsuspecting collectors were paying as much as $200 dollars for the buckles in the 1960's (around $1300.00 in today's dollars). To this day, it is unknown who the maker of these buckles actually was. This buckle advertises the CORD OWNERS CLUB of AMERICA. This is a large/heavy buckle, measuring 3-3/4 inches wide and is made from brass or bronze.
Condition: Very nice. Has a nice, aged patina (tarnish).
